Quick Start Guide
1. Create a Server
Go to Servers → New Server. Choose your server type and Minecraft version.
2. Start Your Server
Click the play button on your server card. Wait for it to fully start.
3. Add Mods or Plugins
Go to Mods & Plugins to browse and install content from Modrinth.
Server Types
Paper
High-performance Minecraft server with plugin support. Best for most users.
Forge
Mod loader for large modpacks. Supports most popular mods.
Fabric
Lightweight mod loader with fast updates. Great for newer mods.
Vanilla
Official Minecraft server from Mojang. No mods or plugins.
Troubleshooting
Common Error Fixes
Port already in use
Change the server port in Server Settings or stop the other process using the port.
EULA not accepted
Open the server folder and confirm eula.txt has eula=true, then restart the server.
Java not found
Install Java 17+ and set the Java path in Settings, then restart the server.
Java version unsupported
Upgrade to the Java version required by your Minecraft version (Java 17+ for modern servers).
Out of memory
Increase RAM allocation or remove heavy mods/plugins to reduce memory usage.
Server jar missing
Reinstall the server files from the server settings or download the correct jar.
Plugin failed to load
Update or remove the plugin listed in the error message and start again.
Missing mods
Install the required mods or use matching versions for your server type.
World data corrupt
Restore from a backup or move the world folder aside to generate a new world.
Disk full
Free up disk space or move your server data to a drive with more space.
Server watchdog timeout
Reduce load or increase watchdog timeout in server.properties.
System Requirements
Java
Java 17 or newer required. Java 21 recommended.
Memory
4GB minimum, 8GB+ recommended for modded servers.
Network
Internet required for downloading mods and updates.
